"I am an illustrator/designer/animator gathering experience in different sectors since 2006. My creative practice so far has covered education, television packaging, book illustration, editorial commissions, film and digital branding. I want to diversify further, learn more and work on projects, both commercial and creative."

How long have you been a Freelancer for?

I have been freelancing since 2008.

Describe your work in one sentence.

My work is based around narratives. I am an ideas person first before an animator / illustrator or designer. I write my content and illustrate for newspapers, I write and animate promos and have produced sound and content for my films.

Who are some of the clients you have worked for?

Google, MTV Networks, Condé Nast Publishing, Hachette Book Group, V&A and House of Illustration. I have also worked with animator Isabel Herguera on her short animation film, Amar that won the Spirit Awards last year. My practice covers commercial and private commissions.

What's the most important thing you've learned in your line of work?

The most important thing is diversity, also cultural awareness. The motivation within my work is to cross cultural boundaries and at least affect one person in some way.

What attracted you to your chosen field?

Storytelling. The ability to form narratives: as an animator and storyteller you have the power to even make a rock become a compelling hero of a piece. The possibilities are endless.

Tell us about your best project to date.

The best project, where I had a lot of creative freedom was designing the artist themes for Google Chrome. They wanted something that celebrated our digital life. I decided to use scanned images of leaves and created tiny characters inspired by fruits speaking our digital language-in emoticons. The theme is titled 'Fresh' and is available at their webstore.

What sets you apart from your competitors?

My quirkiness. Also my ability to pick up languages.

If you could work on any project for any company/organisation, what would it be and who would it be for?

I want to do animations within the factual genre. I love recording conversations and I think this possibility within animation has a lot of scope for the future. Channel Four's "what is Fufu?" -a short piece on adoption and Bold Creative's film about children and poverty in the UK made me realize animation has more power than making imaginary creatures do imaginary things.

What frustrates you the most about your job?

I find my scanner frustrating.

What pearl of wisdom can you offer to someone thinking about starting out as a freelancer?

Carry a sketchbook or any recording devise.

If you could have ONE super power, what would it be?

If I had one superpower then it would probably be to become what my name means. Aindri, in Sanskrit means one with a thousand eyes. I think a thousand eyes would be a cool feature to have.

What's your favourite bit of kit?

I am currently working with cellotape. Maybe the scalpel.

Tell us a random fact about yourself.

I don't want to quit smoking, ever.

What's your favourite song of all time?

I am currently listening to African Sufi. This blog titled Awesome Tapes from Africa is truly awesome!

What is your favourite app?

Spotify.

Facebook or Twitter?

Facebook. I am trying to be more Twitter friendly.

Eat In or eat out?

Eat in.
