Tell us about your winning submissions! What do you think impressed the judges?

For The Annual 2021 we submitted a series of projects dedicated to the anniversary of Victory against Nazi Germany in the Second World War. We thought that it was important that we should try to talk about WW2 legacy with younger audiences through new media. #VictoryPages is the versatile social media documentary commemorating the 75th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany. It is a story of Victory told by the young for the young, using the tools and language of digital media over five social networks, employing visual art, interactive formats, 3D animations, Virtual & Augmented realities. The judges praised our unique storytelling approach, the way our projects accurately transfer stories from the past into our “digital” present times. And it was really meaningful for our team to read all the valuable feedbacks from the global Annual jury.

Yes, and finally after 12 bronzes and 5 silvers in the past 3 years we hope to win a Gold Annual!

Keep on creating innovative and meaningful projects. Great and crafty storytelling always wins hearts and minds.

How does winning awards such as The Annual impact your business?

It is always great to be among the winners at different global creative awards. Such competitions help our team at RT Creative Lab to see how our works fit into current global creative agenda and if we are following and even setting the trends.

This year’s winners are a testament to the power of creativity in hardship. How did Covid restrictions influence your winning projects and how did you approach these new challenges?

The past 2 years for creative and media industries have been a tough challenge, to say the least. But such challenging times are a perfect storm to search for creative solutions, to look for new ways to communicate with your audiences. So we were trying to search for these solutions through digital space, trying to experiment with new formats and platforms that have been evolving during the pandemic.

*

What are your hopes for the industry in 2022 and beyond?

Hopes to finally get back to normal, get back to physical attendance of awards, festivals, forums and creative gatherings.

What is your most exciting project in the next year?

We are creating a big online educational project called VKHUTEMAS.ACADEMY - this will be a digital platform telling the story of the “Russian Bauhaus”, or VKHUTEMAS, - state art and technical school which basically launched design education (graphic, architecture, industrial design etc) in Soviet Russia over 100 years ago.
