To mark the reopening of environmentally-friendly fashion brand Freitag’s Zurich District 4 store, the brand is giving consumers the chance to create their own product.
Following common remarks such as ‘Have you got his bag in pale blue?’, ‘Yellow handles would be cool to go with it’ or ‘Haven’t you got a crazier version of this?’, the company is inviting people to book a slot to make their own bags.
Freitag products are made from recycled materials such as used truck tarps and car seat belts. Because the materials are tough, the products and its bags are still designed, cut by hand and packaged in Zurich. Each one is unique and recycled.
The Freitag Sweat-Yourself-Shop will see fans fire up the conveyor and collect all the individual tarp pieces for their unique bags before designing and making the products under the supervision of staff.
They’ll then add the finishing touches using the cutter, Plexiglas template, punch machine and ultrasonic welding machine. Shop crew will take over at that point for the sewing and riveting.
Sessions are available for one or two people until the end of August. Book your place here.
