C02 Eating and Self-healing Concrete
Is Bacteria helping the fight against climate change? Concrete with self-healing properties can repair itself when damaged by filling the cracks with calcium carbonate produced by bacteria living in the concrete.
Hungry for some CO2? A bioreceptive concrete has been developed which absorbs CO2 and traps pollution particles to create cleaner breathing air. Being comprised of 90% recycled materials, it is the perfect example of science and infrastructure working together to tackle climate change.
