Published by

Think you’re too old for advent calendars? Feeling like a bit of a scrooge? Bored of being forced to consume tiny pieces of molded chocolate on a daily basis (stay with me)… well this might just be for you!

Manchester-based agency True North have collaborated with interior design practice Sheila Bird to bring you 24 Days of Lever St - a gigantic illustrated advent calendar in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter. Adorning the side of 24 Lever St (home to a diverse creative community), the 24 windows will showcase local talent whilst bringing some festive cheer to the folk who live and work in Manchester.

If you were expecting a Partridge in a Pear Tree today, then look no further. Stanley Chow’s illustration for the first day of Christmas got the calendar of to a cracking start.

And there's more to follow.

Designed with community in mind, the project celebrates Christmas through creativity and will feature artwork by a host of well-known creative conspirators alongside True North, from Stanley Chow to Deanna Halsall, Young to The Neighbourhood. With a new illustration revealed each day, it’s sure to keep you inspired over the festive season. What’s more, A3 prints of all designs will be available to buy online to raise funds for local charity Wood Street Mission.

So if you’re in Manchester over coming weeks, be sure to swing by as the project unfolds. And if you’re further afield, why not keep open your advent calendar online at 24 Days of Lever Street.

Now if that doesn’t stoke your Christmas spirit, what does?
