Young creatives set to crash the stage at Creative Circle 2019

Published by

This year’s opening president's address at the Creative Circle Ball will be delivered with a difference as young creatives are given a voice at the event. Ana and Hermeti Balarin, ECDs at Mother London, are inviting students and those in the early stages of their careers to submit short proposals on what they’d like to tell the UK’s creative leaders.

Traditionally, the annual Creative Circle awards night opens with a speech given by the jury presidents, but this year the Mother ECDs will channel the thoughts and ideas of the next generation in their intro.

The concept will incorporate their 'What Goes Around, Comes Around' manifesto into the very beginning of the show. The pair have billed it as possibly the one opportunity in the history of UK advertising for young creatives to upstage the UK’s creative leadership.

The Balarin manifesto, released earlier this year, challenges individuals in the creative industry to look back to when they started and a time when everything was crucial to their career development. The Creative Circle and its presidents believe it’s time for those in leadership positions now, to collectively support the next generation.

“This is your chance to speak to the whole industry,” said Ana and Hermeti Balarin. “Don’t mince your words. We badly need them.”

“The industry is continually welcoming the next generation of creatives, they are the future of our business and their voices need to be heard,” added Jeremy Green, MD of Creative Circle. “We’ve always welcomed fresh blood at the Creative Circle Ball and students are always in our audience, so we couldn’t be more thrilled to have them open the show.”

If you're a student looking to work in the creative industries or a young creative, send your contributions in 30 words or less by tomorrow (Wednesday 1 May).

The Creative Circle ceremony takes place at Troxy London on Thursday 9 May with tickets available here.
