Where to start with the past 12 months?

The year 2020 AD has been... interesting to say the least. There isn't a single person, company, agencies or otherwise who can claim not to have been affected by Covid-19. And as we all wait for the vaccines to fully roll out and a semblance of normality to embrace us once again, we know the only possible solution is to leave all of this behind and look forward.

Now is the time to celebrate. To share your best work from 2020 and join the creative legends in 2021, bringing back some positivity and fun into a world still fighting against a global pandemic.

Who knows where we'll be in the next 12 months? But we know where we stand now.

The Creativepool Annual is a yearly book dedicated to the very heart of the creative industries, the core of creativity: you. It is an international compendium of the very best the creative disciplines and Creativepool members have to offer, a collection of the best works in the industry from both companies and individuals.

Every year, a body made up of the most influential figures in the industry comes together to judge and score creative works from members and companies alike. The Annual 2020 judges were the most influential in the history of Creativepool, and we cannot wait to announce what is next with our 2021 makeup of jurors.

The most loved and recognised feature of the Annual awards is that every work only competes against itself: our judges are expected to score entries in isolation, separating companies from members. The Creativepool Annual remains to this date the only creative award with People's Choice, handing over to the community the power to decide who wins the prestigious People's Choice prize.

Now in its eighth year, the Creativepool Annual remains the most influential, distributed, voted for, shared and collaborative award in the creative industry. And as we work to remain the most carbon-positive award as well, in 2021 Creativepool will split 10% of all profits between charities that exist to protect the planet - Project Crimson, the Woodland Trust and The Nature Conservatory.

The new categories

We believe creativity has the power to change the world. As part of Creativepool's commitment to change, Annual 2021 introduces two new categories: Social Good and Covid-19.

Both categories are entirely free to enter.

Social Good is for campaigns, products and innovations that contribute to making the world better. Covid-19 welcomes any work in any medium that is related to the biggest public health crisis in living memory!

Having seen the impact that Covid-19 is having on the planet and the industry, we want to ensure that the most positive and groundbreaking campaigns are celebrated for what they are worth, in their own, bespoke space on the Annual book.

Entering the new categories, Social Good and Covid-19, is entirely free.

Early bird submissions are now open

Early bird submissions will remain open until April 7th. Final submissions will close on May 27th and late submissions on June 10th, three weeks before the shortlist is announced on July 1st.

Last year, despite the challenging Covid times, over 2,000 submissions were entered across 38 categories, leading to an impressive body of work that will forever remain in the annals of the creative industry.

However, for safety reasons, last year we were unable to hold our epic Annual party to announce the winners of the awards. We are hoping that this year we will be able to come back with a bang – and having skipped a year only means that we will have even more to celebrate for!

This year, we have planned the Annual launch party to take place on 9th September. It is an event that has become synonymous with the creative industries in London and one of the unmitigated highlights of the creative calendar. This is the night where all winners will be announced and celebrated and is always an ideal opportunity to make fresh contacts with new and old blood alike.

All winners on the night will receive limited hardcover editions of the annual in Gold, Silver or Bronze, alongside free Creativepool Pro accounts and special badges on their Creativepool accounts highlighting them as award winners. Bespoke feedback on their work will then be collated and sent by the Creativepool team.

After a year like 2020, we all need more reasons to celebrate and bring back some positivity in our lives. Annual 2021 is a unique occasion to share your best work from 2020 and have it land directly on the desks of prospective clients and agencies, with over 5,000 Annual books printed and sent every year.
