5 minutes with... Will Pyne - Executive Creative Director at Holler

Published

Will Pyne, Holler

Tell us what you do for a living and who you work for?
Joint founder and Executive Creative Director of Holler.

What does that involve?
Leading and mentoring the creative team (50%) and running the business (50%)

How did you get started in the industry?
As an over cocky design graduate, with a big appetite to make an impression. I made sure I had a job in a creative agency as soon as I finished university. Starting off at Seven Worldwide, I soon moved to Zinc, followed by a stint at Leo Burnett before starting Holler.

What would you be doing if you weren't doing that?
A zookeeper.

What's your all-time favourite piece of creative work?
This could be film, music, a tv ad or a website, so it's impossible to answer! If I wrote a list I'd be here all day. My favourite creative team of all time is Modern Toss.

What do you love about your job?
I love the people, and the talent I get to work with. I love the ever changing landscape and the constant need to evolve.

What do you hate about your job?
One thing: losing pitches that you know are a winner!

Tell us your favourite website?
Impossible question to answer for me. There are an infinite number of amazing websites that you can like for different reasons.

If you could give one piece of advice, what would it be?
Start young, take risks early. Do your thang, and don't do what everyone else is doing because you think it's cool.
