5 minutes with... Steve Boswell - Lowe & Partners

How did you get started in the industry?
Foundation Art, Graphics Degree, followed by much trudging around London with another Steve and a black portfolio, hearing ‘Come back with some more ideas next week' which eventually led to a 1st Job at Cogent Elliot.

What would you be doing if you weren't doing that?
Stupid impressions of 70s Cartoon Characters like Mr Magoo.

What's your current favourite piece of creative work?
Heineken Star Player by AKQA- A live interactive gaming app you play on your iPhone while watching UEFA Champions League games on TV. It's the future, joining up devices to increase involvement.

What do you love about your job?
Starting from nothing and ending up with something amazing.

If you could give one piece of advice for someone starting out, what would it be?
Listen to everyone's opinion of your work, then decide what yours is and stick to it.

If you have one Super power what would it be?
The power to grow a beard.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

What was your worst job and what did you learn from it?
I once spent a 12 hours a day for a week painting a 30 foot mural in the snooker room of a friend of my parent's house. I got paid a measly £150 and when I asked for the £80 for the paint, the bloke told me he'd assumed it was included in my price and he wasn't willing to pay it. I learnt to always be clear about things and never work with tight-arsed wholesale fruit and veg millionaires.

You have already worked with some amazing brands, ideally who would be next?
Vans or anyone who makes Scotch eggs.

iPhone or Blackberry?

Your favourite app?

PlayStation or Wii?
Wii but Xbox Kinect is on the Birthday list.

Too Cool for School or too School for Cool?
I hate these cryptic crosswords!

Facebook or Twitter?

Eat In or eat out?
In. Laps are best.
