Tell us what you do for a living and who you work for?
Creative Director and Co-founder of Neighbourhood.

How did you get started in the industry?
Degree in architecture, decided I didn't want to go into that industry, free-lanced as a graphic designer then straight into the world of multimedia at Amaze learning 2D/3D animation, screen design and navigation on the job.

What would you be doing if you weren't doing that?
Probably still something design based. I don't believe in being pigeon holed into one creative discipline- animation, online, 3D, architecture, print etc. it's all design at the end of the day.

What's your current favourite piece of creative work?
This morning it is this little video for Moleskine using forced perspectives and camera trickery. This afternoon it may be something else!

What do you love about your job?
Variety of challenges, experimenting with different ideas and approaches.

If you could give one piece of advice for someone starting out, what would it be?
Develop your own unique conceptual framework around your work. It will breathe integrity, authenticity and personality into your projects.

If you have one Super power what would it be?
Time travel

What do you want to be when you grow up?
I'm not sure I want to grow up? A childlike inquisitiveness is essential in the creative industries.

What was your worst job and what did you learn from it?
Working in a really dull architects firm, scratching out drawings and making tea. I learned that the reality of working in architecture wasn't what I thought it was. Projects go on forever, I like a higher turnover of ideas with shorter time frames to make them happen...

You have already worked with some amazing brands, ideally who would be next?
I would like to work with book publishers/authors. The connection between books as analogue objects and the expansion of their stories onto online platforms is a big interest to me.

I noticed you made the show reel for Code Computerlove, would you say the design community in Manchester works together?
I think there is a sense of community. There are many small talented studios in the NorthWest and a healthy appetite to collaborate to realise bigger and better projects. This is an attitude close to our hearts at The Neighbourhood.

iPhone or Blackberry?
iPhone

Your favourite app?
Instagram, although NanoStudio is an amazing music production app- loads of fun

PlayStation or Wii?
Not a big gamer I'm afraid.

Too Cool for School or too School for Cool?
Too cool for fools

Facebook or Twitter?
They both have different uses, I'm not sure it's a fair comparison.

Eat In or eat out?
You're asking? Out then!
