Benk + Bo bring you the Workshop Zone @ Connect: London

Published by

Benk + Bo, the multifunctional space for creatives in Spitalfields, London, are bringing their Scandinavian design and aesthetic to the Workshop Zone at Connect: London on November 21 and 22.

Join them for a cup of coffee and learn about how the Benk + Bo space takes into mind the evolving notion of work for creative freelancers and makers who have multiple and fluid careers.

There will be a few workshops on each of the days to broaden your creative mind, brought to you by SheSays, Hidden, and Dalton Maag which will cover copywriting, creative collaboration and typeface.

Wednesday 21st November

The Art of Copy with Mel McGinnis
Creative Copywriter @ The Marketing Store

While it's true that anyone can write, there is a certain art to it. This workshop will help you with a few tips and techniques to keep the front of mind when you put pen to paper, and your fingers to the keyboard.

Mel will then help you channel these tips into writing a short bio as this is an underrated piece of real-estate on our portfolio, Creativepool and LinkedIn profiles.

Choosing a Typeface with Aideen Greenlee + Riccardo DeFranceschi
Account Manager + Font Developer @ Dalton Maag

Choosing a typeface is about more than just how the letters look on a page. To successfully meet a brief, it’s essential to also consider the technical, linguistic and logistic requirements; from understanding how fonts render in different software environments, to clearly identifying the language and cultural expectations. In this 2-hour session, we aim to give participants an introduction to the considerations when choosing a typeface, through a combination of presentation and practical group exercises.

Thursday 22nd November

Artseekscopy | Copyseeksart
with Joyce Kremer, Creative + Art Director

You don't have to be a copywriter, or an art director for this event. You can be a designer, developer, strategist, UX designer, social media guru, filmmaker, or any other creative collaborator!
Basically, if you are looking for a new creative soulmate to work on any project you are working on, now or in the future, this is the place to come to.
During our multidisciplinary networking session, you will meet like-minded people looking to collaborate on projects, as well as expanding your network.

Choosing a Typeface with Eleni Beveratou, Creative Director @ Dalton Maag

Another chance to get an introduction to typefaces and the considerations when choosing a typeface, through a combination of presentation and practical group exercises.
