At Mad River, we’re more than just a creative agency, we’re a team of thinkers, adventurers, and boundary-breakers. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to venture beyond. That means pushing past the expected, the safe, and the conventional. It’s a mindset that defines not just our work, but our culture, our relationships, and the impact we strive to make every day.
We may be a small team of 16, but our ideas and results speak volumes.

At the heart of our success is our culture; alive with curiosity, courage, and collaboration. Every year, we embark on a Team Adventure, a tradition designed to push us beyond our comfort zones and into new challenges together. We’ve completed the 3 Peaks (twice), cycled Devon Coast to Coast, kayaked around the Isle of Wight, and for our 10th Adventure, we travelled to the Alps to climb our highest peak ever. These aren’t just physical feats, they reflect our determined mindset and unity as a team.

Our quarterly Team Days continue this ethos. They start in studio with open conversations about how we can better ourselves and our processes and move on to some hands-on learning or meaningful action, like volunteering on Brownsea Island’s habitat regeneration project or making production / supplier visits. But they always end with a good meal and a few drinks, sometimes on the beach at our MR Beach Cabin.

And we know how to celebrate. Our legendary Christmas parties are a testament to our creative spirit and camaraderie. From unforgettable venues to surprise activities, they leave lasting memories.

Day to day, we balance support, learning, and high standards through our weekly Win, Learn, Change reflections. Each team member shares their highlights, challenges, and plans for improvement, turning lessons into fuel for future success. We’re a group of curious minds with diverse skills and experiences. We challenge and champion one another, filling in each other’s gaps, to deliver the best outcomes together.

We also celebrate those who go above and beyond, whether in the everyday or the extraordinary, through our staff rewards programme, where team members earn tokens for living the brand and delivering great work. They are redeemable against a raft of prizes from dinners for two, treehouse stays and activities, to tech and clothing vouchers.

Life at Mad River is a celebration of what happens when a passionate team consistently dares to think differently, act boldly, and venture beyond the expected. That’s who we are. That’s what we do. And we’re in it for the long run.
