AI-generated imagery is cool in itself, but as an artist, where do you go from there?
Our studio is often provided with moodboards capturing a client's creative vision for a science animation project. Sometimes the creative direction involves turning science concepts into fun, organic characters and environments. We were inspired by the AI-generated visuals achieved thru platforms like Midjourney and Dall-E and used them as an opportunity for our artists to see if we could translate this type of imagery into actual animatable CG visuals, much like we do for our clients. Here is our first in a series of AI-to-CG challenges, led by Medical Animator Jeni Zernick and CG modeler Josh Lockwood.
