ABOUT
The brief for this project was perhaps the most abstract I’d ever read. My task was equally complex; to produce a typeface, poster and booklet that symbolised the poem ‘Banshee’ by Alexander Jolly. The poem centred around a persona, the Irish mythical ‘Banshee’ creature that warns people of imminent death. An extended metaphor connects the Banshee to emergency service vehicles, and the part they pay in death. My typeface symbolises physicality’s of the Banshee, and represents the fragility of life. The poster signifies the impact of the poem, and the booklet gives the project a contextual base in reality.
