at the beginning of 2021 I decided to rethink refresh and redesign my personal logo for my illustration work

For a very long time I've always signed my artwork with my "sawn face" ex libris. came up with it during my art education and through the years it transformed and changed a few times.

Finally at the beginig of 2021 I wanted to refresh it and change what it meant and represented.

I always signed my art with little voodoo like head with sawn mouth as I thought that art should "speak for itself".
Being now older and (hopefully) wiser I think that showing your true self in your art is as much important as being consistent in delivering good art for your clients.

When someone is commissioning an illustration he is paying for swift and professional delivery but also for my sensibilities and unique look. And there is always some place to show it, be it personal passion projects or commercial illustrations.

I decided to step away from the grotesque sawn head (although I hold it very dear in my little dark heart) but still keep the quirkiness and not quite polished look.

going with "less is more" approach I destilled the sign to what I think Is most valuable in my art- me
I don't really know how to be someone else and how to do create art other way than mine.

So here I am - in New year after disaster that was 2020. Nothing less and nothing more
