The Leith Agency approached us on behalf of soft drink manufacturer, AG Barr, to create a sequel to The Snowman inspired IRN-BRU Christmas commercial. The first commercial was made in 2006 and continues to air every year. The brief was to continue the story with the same charm and wit which gave the original advert its longevity. We worked with Robin Shaw, director of the first commercial, to reassemble the creative team behind the original along with some bright new talents, to produce the entirely hand-crafted, pencil-on-paper, one minute advert.
The commercial has been watched almost 1.9 million times across YouTube and Twitter since it was uploaded on 1 December 2018. It was also mentioned in all the major consumer press in Scotland and on national radio on BBC Scotland. The new V&A Dundee museum, which appears in the commercial, launched their Winter Nights season with a special sold-out talk from Robin and The Leith Agency directors about making the advert.
