Brazilians children picture soccer fields anywhere. But for most of them, the other sports that are coming to Rio in 2016 seem expensive and distant. Coral Paints, an AkzoNoble’s popular brand here, used the same creativity to bring other activities closer to our kids. In a Favela, we painted common spaces like corners and clotheslines into unexpected courts for alternative sports, creating rules that comply with walls, posts and holes. In “Stairs Basketball”, for example, each step bellow gives you a higher score.

Residents Association is now holding sport classes there. The circuit was added to the favela’s official tours for visitors and school students. And the Government is spreading the idea by handout booklets and a “how-to-do” website.
