About me
My name is Lucy Stephens and I am an experienced lifestyle journalist having very recently swapped the bikini weather of Brisbane, Australia for the slightly soggier skies of London.
I am writing to you in the hopes of securing the role of copywriter. I believe the skills and experience I have acquired and my can-do attitude would make me a suitable candidate for this role.
In my most recent role, I was the Digital Editor at aspirational lifestyle publication Style, helping to launch and grow a successful digital platform as a complementary and stand-alone offering alongside their already well-established monthly print edition. Prior to that, I was the Senior Journalist for the monthly mag, having started there as an intern four years earlier.
In the role of Digital Editor, I was responsible for creating, researching, and delegating content across the website and social media channels, ensuring it was relevant, engaging and shareable. Topics covered included everything from where to get the best espresso martinis to how to wear denim every day of the week. I also took on a fashion challenge entitled, "30 Days Styled By My Boyfriend" where I reflected weekly on the website and via social media, attracting a large following. I also contributed to various custom publications under our custom arm, which included editorial-style magazines for shopping centres, food retailers and developers. For these, I was required to adjust the tone of the language to suit each particular client or brand.
As I worked for a small team, I consider myself very adaptable and experienced in juggling varying deadlines across multiple platforms in a past-faced office environment.
I have a passion for all things fashion and beauty, an obsession with current trends, and a desire to grow and develop my skills.
