Lucy began her career with Christie's auction house progressing to the Guggenheim Museum, Venice before becoming an independent Curator, Art Dealer and Art Market Professional (specialising in art market law and economics). She has worked extensively in central Europe within smaller private Foundations and Collections. She is also a RICS registered Mediator and Valuer.

As an accomplished and experienced art historian, Lucy has discreetly procured artworks for private collectors and institutions. She has acted as an intermediary for artwork sales and acquisitions covering works valued at £50,000 up to £10,000,000. Lucy has helped to solve a number of complex disputes and advises as an Expert Witness in provenance.
Galerie Betty Charles was established in 2025 and presents exciting works from across Europe and the UK. Specialising in Modern art () the gallery works with Contemporary artists whose work we respect and admire as "Modern-Masters" Our works are carefully picked to work in a curated way together throughout the gallery. We work with both seasoned art collectors and those looking to begin their collecting journey. We know that beginning to collect art can be a daunting process and we aim to give you the confidence and knowledge to enjoy putting your own unique collection together.

Our gallery is unique in having a dedicated legal team within the business to ensure that all works are appropriately identified, researched and authenticated. We are also able to appraise works and offer clients market and insurance valuations.
Lucy is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Art Scholars and sits on the Charity Committee which seeks to distribute funds to individuals and institutions which align with the principles of art scholarship. In 2022, she was granted the Freedom of the City of London.
