The concept for my collection looked into the ideas of asylum and skin.
As I was researching skin and the textures of it I found myself looking into undergarments and lingerie.

I went to the undressed exhibition at the v&a and this really inspired me to start designing feminine undergarments. Corsets and bustiers stood out to me throughout this exhibition so that's where the inspiration came to use them in my collection.

At first I designed all womenswear lingerie inspired pieces but After doing a lot of trend research into men's street wear I wanted to incorporate this into my collection.
So the menswear pieces are oversized and drop crotch.

After looking at lingerie trends on Wgsn there was a lot of nude colours mixed with black trims. Therefore I wanted to use light nude colours throughout my collection and then add black lace trims to some of the garments.

I took from the research of asylums the straight jacket and restrictive clothing so I have one garment that goes fully over the body, corsets with lace up detailing and a cropped lace top that fastens the arms together inspired by the straight jacket.

For my fabrics I wanted to keep traditional lingerie fabrics like silk, chiffon and lace.

Once my outfits were toiled I changed my line up by adding more undergarments that made the collection more of a lingerie collection than just inspired by it.

When making the bras and underwear I made it entirely on the stand and then hand-sowed the garments where I had it pinned. For my other garments I used a French seam as some of my garments were see through and light weight.
