Working with Wake The Town and Lucky Generals, I scored the soundtrack to this party political campaign film which sets out Labour's Five Pledges. The approach was to be subtle, sensitive to the protagonists and their struggles while also creating a sense of hope and uplifting feel. To do this, I combined traditional instrumentation like piano, bass guitar and electric guitar together with low pulsating synth pads and some live string recordings passed through a rotary guitar pedal effect. The result is a score that has some melodic progression to tell the story of each character in the film, but also has sections of primarily soundscape-based music to allow some space to feel what is being told.
