ABOUT

This project is based on the 6th floor and is a penthouse conversion of a former Victorian warehouse in the trendy metropolitan wharf. It was a former residential property that is split over two levels.
Being on a wharf, the penthouse boasts spectacular views of the river Thames and its surrounding landmarks.
A prime location and in close proximity to the city, Canary Wharf and Shoreditch area the client is looking to renovate this penthouse suite to be utilized as a Airbnb or for hire for photo/film and programme location.
The client’s main concern was of the inaccessibility of the roof top garden from the bedrooms due to the sloping roof structure.
This was structurally challenging as the beams could not be compromised as they need to support the building. I had proposed that we open up the roof by creating a glass box conversion from the bedroom leading to the garden.
I had also suggested that we reposition the staircase in order for it to become accessible from the bedrooms.
The client wanted to create an overall contemporary, unique, environment. The project has been given a feeling a modern gallery by using sophisticated textures and finishing’s.
