About me
I am a music composer, performer, researcher and educator.
I am currently carrying-out a doctoral practice-led research in Composition, focused on New materialist approaches to compositional practice in New Music Theatre and Contemporary Opera. I participated in Atlanticx Residency 2021, in which I composed a music-theatre work combining moving image and instrumental performance that will be premiered by Ensemble 2e2m in Music of the Americas (NY) this summer.
I was awarded a Master of Arts in Composition and Theory specialised in Music Theatre with Minor in Opera from the University of the Arts in Bern (Switzerland). This course encompasses the development of composition and performance skills using creative technologies available at the Music, Media and Sound Art departments. My Master's Thesis focused on re-contextualisation techniques for the interaction of digital and acoustic-physical materials in Music theatre performance. During Spring 2020 lockdown, I created an online performance of my work CAT, A Schrödinger's musical unstory, that explores immersive theatre techniques combining virtual and printed 3D objects mirrored by digitally synthesised and acoustic sounds. In 2018, I was awarded a Music Grant from the National Funds of the Arts (AR).
My compositional work combines vocal and instrumental forces with media such as fixed and live electronics, film and live video. Software I use for sound design ranges from Logic, Ableton, Pro Tools and Reaper to audio programming on MAX/MSP, Supercollider, Sonic Pi and Open Music, spectral analysis and synthesis on Audiosculpt and Spear, as well as 3D modelling on Blender. My personal skills include attention to detail, the ability to prioritise, creativity and effective organisation.
A woodwind player, I play flutes and saxophones. My performative practice is dedicated to the interpretation of New music, engaging in the diffusion of Argentinean composers, including myself. I have performed in Venues and Festivals internationally: Musikfestival Bern, Acht Brücken Festival Cologne, Gare du Nord Basel, Société de Musique Contemporaine Lausanne, three editions of CICTEM (International Congress of Music Science and Technology) at UNA, Centro Nacional de la Música Buenos Aires, First Conference of Contemporary Music at Damus, UNA.
I hold a certification in Music Education and have been teaching music for ten years, currently delivering music tuition for Tower Hamlets Arts and Music Education Service. During summer term 2021, I assisted the delivery of music workshops for young people combining interdisciplinary performance and music technology in the frame of the Learning and Participation department at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. Last autumn term, I assisted Musical Director Paul Barker during the devising process of the short film The Bridge in the frame of the MA Music Theatre at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where I helped students developing their compositional ideas, led musical rehearsals, scored some of the music and was in charge of the sound design of the film.
I took training in Opera Staging at ISATC (Teatro Colon Superior Institute of the Arts) and collaborated in opera productions as Stage Director and Assistant director: Sounding Shakespeare with Puzzle Piece Opera Company, Don Giovanni and Nozze di Figaro (Mozart) at the Opernfest Berlin; Lady Sarashina (Eötvos) with the Swiss Opera Studii, La Sonnambula (Bellini) with the Opera company Dov'è la Bussola; Dido and Aeneas (Purcell) and Suor Angelica (Puccini) at the Centro Nacional de la Música Buenos Aires, and The Old Maid and The Thief (Menotti) at the Theatre 25 de Mayo.
I graduated in Music from the National University of the Arts and in Theatre from the Metropolitan School of Drama (Buenos Aires).
