The final product uses cognitive behavioural therapy to reduce the effects of the user’s ruminations. Its bulb can be fully customised by the user via an app. This bulb glows and dims to a 4-7-8 second breathing exercise to relax the user and ease them to sleep. Its secondary function is an alarm which uses the bulb to slowly increase the brightness in the room. This eases the user out of their lightest sleep stage, so their deep sleep is uninterrupted. An integrated speaker in the base sounds a final alarm, in case the user is still asleep. An app can be used to customise the bulb’s light colour and intensity, while it also encourages regular exercise and is able to track and record the user’s progress.
