ABOUT

Nile is a South African agri-tech start-up that connects farmers of fresh produce directly to enterprise buyers. Having recently celebrated its first anniversary and securing over $5 million in capital investment, Nile decided to announce the close of the successful investment round with a rebrand. The brief was to develop a cohesive brand identity that works across both print & digital mediums, with a particular emphasis on its suitability for digital platforms. The brand identity needed to convey Nile's technologically-advanced and progressive approach while maintaining a friendly and approachable appeal to the more traditional farmer audience.
A key consideration during the rebranding process was to infuse the brand with personality, ensuring that it is relatable to farmers and garners their enthusiastic participation within the Nile community. We did this through the colour and typography choices, the development of an illustration style, and crafting a friendly and courteous tone of voice with a humorous edge. Additionally, real conversations between Nile and farmers provided valuable insights that were incorporated into the tone of voice - most notably the use of emojis.
