Lucas, Jamie and Ellie, three siblings whose parents have abandoned them flee from social services and in the escape fall through a portal to the fairy kingdom where they are enslaved as workers for the evil Lord of Winter, Balor. After escaping and finding refuge with the Oracle he entrusts the siblings to rescue Princess Briganta held captive by Balor with the aid seven riddles. However, only two may go home as the third is a changeling and heir to the fairy kingdom. To do so they must go on a quest and answers riddles to release the princess from her prison. Only by saving the princess can they be free.
