Londonist in collaboration with Appfly is proud to present its new-look website, now in Technicolor!
Founded in 2004, Londonist is a site about London and everything that happens in it. Currently there are over 27,000 articles written by contributors since its inception. It has recently been named by The Daily Mail as the second more useful, inspiring and entertaining web for exploring London town (above TFL and Time Out) 1756FeR.
Londonist was purchased from Gothamist LLC by LDN Creative in 2010 and Appfly assisted in the conversion from the Movable Type software to its new Wordpress theme and layout.
Since the transfer Londonist has gone from strength to strength, tripling its page view impressions and increasing its revenues via advertising and commercial sponsorship.
The new theme was built from the ground up to provide a fluid layout accross the variety of platforms in desktop, tablet and mobile form. A smart system of categorisation was incorporated to be sure that on all pages there are related content links available for the user to find.
Appfly migrated the site with its new design to the powerful platform which provides a super fast, scalable and reiable framework, allowing for the very large number of hits Londonist can develop over short spurts of time via its various social network assets.
