Lobster Launches #memorydonation in Partnership With Alzheimer’s Disease International

Published by

May 21st 2018: According to the World Health Organization, someone in the world develops dementia every 3 seconds. There are more than 50 million people living with dementia globally. With the number of dementia and Alzheimer’s cases on the rise and the average age decreasing, it’s shocking how low public awareness is of a cause that affects patients and their loved ones around the world.

Leading dementia charity, Alzheimer’s Disease International has teamed up with AI-powered platform, Lobster, to create Memory Donation, an innovative new way to donate to charitable causes. Billions of photos and videos are uploaded to the Internet daily, preserving and sharing memories with our friends and followings. At the same time, millions of memories are fading and disappearing from the minds of dementia patients. Lobster users can now donate a memory in the form of a photo or video to help raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s causes locally and globally.

Founded in 2013, Lobster is an AI-powered platform which enables brands, agencies and the media to licence visual content directly from social media users and cloud archives. Content creators can proactively plug their social accounts into the Lobster platform to allow access to their images and videos, or Lobster can reach out to creators of unlisted content to speed up a licensing process whereby the creator obtains 75% of revenue.

The Memory Donation Campaign has launched today in conjunction with Dementia Action Week that runs 21-27 May 2018. Taking part is simple and free, just sign up to Lobster and use the hashtag #memorydonation on the image you want to contribute when you upload it to social media. Lobster’s AI technology will automatically put your photo or video for sale to creatives, designers and the media. All proceeds from your Memory Donation will go to your local Alzheimer’s Disease International department. We send our thanks to Leo Burnett Moscow for the idea and look forward to welcoming your #memorydonation soon.
