ABOUT
A book to show how no matter where you go in the world, people are all the same, and we should connect.
A lot of the knowledge we gain is through our experience of the world and from the people around us. I decided to create a book containing my travel photography as I have learned a lot from the places I have been. When looking through my photos I realised there were many photos that looked visually similar to other photos I had taken in different countries. I decided to make a book containing these visually similar photos. I wanted to focus only on people, as they can be our main source of our knowledge. I believe the best things you can learn are from strangers half way around the world. Adding the estimation of miles and time between the similar photos can make people realise how far apart the photos were taken. It will hopefully make people realise that no matter where we go, what year it is and no matter what how different our lifestyles are, we are all the same.
A clean and simple design makes the viewers focus completely on the photography and their own thought.
Each double page consists of two visually similar images. At the bottom you will find the city and country each photo was taken, the estimated mileage between each city the photos were taken in, and the time between the photos.
Frosted chapter dividers were used to give a sense of flow and to reflect the idea that there are no barriers between people.
Since the focus is on people in the photographs, I made sure the photos where positioned so that the people where on the same level as each other. The whole book is over 140 pages long. Below are some sample pages from the book.
