About me
An experienced graphic designer - specialising in print design in combination with handfinishing - with extensive experience within stationery, invitations, packaging and surface pattern design plus business brand and identity development. Changing career in 2005 I moved from a background of management consultancy (10 years within management training, learning and development, quality management) into graphic design, establishing Dragonfly Couture Stationery in 2005 and registering the business as a limited company since 2009.
The business grew from a passionate interest in paper and print; my formal training largely covered management and business development, skills which gave me the required toolbox to build a successful small business. Rather than my lack of formal training in design and print holding me back, it meant there were no perceived boundaries - instead, unlimited opportunities to research and learn new techniques.
I have worked with household brand names such as MacDonalds, Red Cross and Shell; produced custom designed stationery packages for over 1000 weddings; worked on branding with a diverse range of local businesses. Working across different disciplines keeps the work interesting and fresh; learning new things every day allows me to explore my potential and develop to become the best I can be.
