ABOUT

I'm extremely proud of this collection. I took a year off from commissions and focussed all of my time into creating a body of work that was entirely of my choosing.
There was no real plan when I started the first lion; I just wanted to throw myself into a painting and not think about whether or not someone would buy it. It was very liberating to create that way for a change.

And what followed was a series of paintings of extremely powerful animals in almost unnervingly calm poses. I'm sure people could read all sorts into it, but I just loved the fact that these wild animals hold so much power - kind of puts you in your place a little. (I should learn to talk about art in a more educated way.)
