This large painted canvas was commissioned by AVK for their newly built Derbyshire factory in 2018.

The brief was fairly open in terms of final design, but they wanted to include the local history in terms of buildings, as well as the valves that the factory manufactures.
Together we chose which buildings to include (Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bolsover Castle, Crooked Spire and also Stephenson's Rocket) and they sent over the blueprints of the valve designs. I had a lot of fun creating something so freely in terms of colour and composition, but I learnt a lot about the difficulties of painting buildings!

This is my biggest piece to date. I want to go bigger.
