Edinburgh Festival Magazine is the longest running annual publication covering Edinburgh's festivals (Fringe, International, Jazz and Blues and Arts). Published by The Media Company Publications, a small independent publisher with a large national audience based in Scotland, Edinburgh Festivals Magazine is an informative yet fun guide to Edinburgh during its exciting festival season.

As a contributor, I produced a wide range of creative and editorial content for both the 2015 and 2016 editions. Main duties included identifying key acts, liaising with PRs, generating ideas and writing copy, from fun yet informative Q&As to a restaurant guide with over 150 entries. As a subeditor, I came up with savvy headlines, relevant standfirsts and captions, fact-checked and proofread the issue to ensure it was up to scratch and matched the publication's distinct voice.

Since joining the team, I have updated the lifestyle and editorial pages to suit the rapidly changing consumer climate. Changing the distribution of the restaurant guide and breaking up each entry by adding a top dish led to easier navigation and visually appealing copy. I also introduced a Q&A's with award-winning acts feature and changed the beauty section from editorial to reviews for a more personalised feel.
