ABOUT

This video was the final part of the first ever charity event, it was to capture the wide spread normality of Mental Health and who it can affect, and how you could be blind to somebody with a Mental Health problem without even knowing. So from the charity streams that ran across the three days the clips shown were picked up, all of which depict us being happy and cheerful without a care in the world, whereas deep down everyone involved has a history either personally to them, or to a close friend or relative and it is a serious issue to everyone that took part. The song used was a cover of a song by Linkin Park made by a friend of mine, which is a song dedicated to raise awareness for Suicide and mental health, and soon after to their lead singer Chester for that very same situation. I feel that the contrast of the happy and sad was the base concept, and the execution definitely hit where it was meant to that people can seem positive, but there are bigger problems in their mind that we can't see and we need to break that stigma. The result of the stream and video was a staggering £1400 raised for MIND, and as we were all small creators and small influences, we smashed the £500 goal that was set originally. The impact doesn't stop there however it brought many creators together and many communities on Twitch that would have never found each other and this idea of mine that I had blew up into this huge event that will now be a regular thing every year.
