I Have been working freelance in the media industry for the past four years with production companies such as...

- CNN

- BBC

- Somethin Else

- Wise Buddah

- Bite Yer Legs

- Whistledown Productions

- Absolute Radio.

Being involved with these fantastic establishments has given me a real sense of what is needed to work in the media industry.

During my time with these companies.

I have worked with several editing software's such as;

- Audition

- Sadie

- Pro Tools

- Final Cut Pro

I believe my rational personality allows me to be flexible in various situations, this also helps when prioritising my workload; I am quick to identify what tasks need to be dealt with efficiently or with higher attention to detail. I am very resilient - I am not one for quitting, or giving up, and I have developed a lot of patience through my experiences, especially trying to break through in the media industry.

I rarely let my emotions control me, especially under pressure or in stressful, provocative situations. I take my work seriously and maintain a professional, diplomatic approach in my tasks and remain friendly at all times. I have had a wealth of work experience that is customer related and therefore I have developed strong communication skills and confidence enabling me to provide excellent customer service. I also pride myself in having a very polite and engaging telephone manner

My past work experience, both within radio and TV, has enabled me to build and maintain effective work relationships. I apply this to a range of people, be it networking and gathering contacts in the audio/visual broadcasting business, interviewing various people for the radio or with day to day colleagues. I feel I take criticism well, and use it in my personal learning progress, always striving to build on my production knowledge and improve my skills.

I always strive for self-improvement, learning and development. I have completed the BBC Safeguarding Trust programme and Highlander course. I have a good knowledge of Ofcom

regulations - I believe this benefits me when undertaking tasks such as fact checking and adhering to compliance guidelines for broadcasters and clients alike.

I am familiar with being flexible and working unsociable hours due to the nature of Freelance jobs. I am always eager to learn new things and take on different projects.

Thank you for your time,

Kind regards

Liam Bird
