ABOUT

I was asked to design a logo for a start up company called glitra, whose goal was to provide learning tools for businesses via mobile devices. The focus was on the individual taking control of their own learning, exploring their curiosities. The logo itself was requested to be basic, minimal, make use of only two colours, feature the company name (in typeface font rather than hand drawn) and leave space for a tagline. After sketching out a few ideas I finally decided that I wanted to focus on the idea of exploring and curiosity. To this end I started with the idea of a compass and then removed elements until only the classic red and black needle remained, which I then split in half again to give a geometric design which could underline the company name. The result was a logo design which met every brief point and left one very happy customer.

"Liad was able to take a mixture of abstract, poetic, and explicit influences specified by me, and turn them into a logo where each aspect was neatly and professionally represented.

Working with him to make minor tweaks was no problem, and the end result was a perfect representation of my new company." - Andrew Woolfson
