About me

I have been studying Sewing and Patten Cutting since I graduated from University in 2012, with a degree in International Politics. I am interested in forging a career in the Fashion Industry. As well as my degree in Politics, I have over 4 years experience in High Street, Luxury retail and e-commerce, which has enabled me to learn about fashion; trends, cycles and fabrics and designers. Furthermore, I have also undertaken Pattern Cutting (Gerber CAD and manual) and Clothes Making courses, which have enabled me to learn about how clothes are made, and begin a portfolio of my work.

Most recently I completed an City and Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Creative Techniques - Fashion Wear course to build my design, pattern drafting and clothesmaking techniques. I had the opportunity to dig deeper into exploring different fabrics types and their properties, and to draft and adjust the fit of a pattern and ultimately the garment, for a client.
