Hi,

I am writing to apply for the Copywriter role, advertised on creativepool, and have enclosed my CV for your consideration.

To give you a quick overview of my background, within a year of becoming a copywriter for an award winning marketing team, I had been promoted to Lead Public Affairs Copywriter and Researcher for the NAPIT Group, demonstrating the confidence my current employers place in the quality of my work.

Now, with almost four year's in-house copywriting experience under my belt, I'm eager to break into an agency environment, capitalise on my creative talents, embrace new challenges and demonstrate my versatility.

Although you're looking for someone with prior agency experience, I'm confident that the skills I've developed and the range of copy I'm able to produce will tick all the boxes.

Having worked for a group of companies and undertaken projects outside of their immediate commercial interests too, I'm confident in my ability to write in a wide range of different styles and tones. From creating a new consumer facing brand to building the reputation of established trade association and from enhancing the identity of a leading industry forum to working as lead communications partner for EU funded climate change lobby, I've been able to develop tailored voices to suit a variety of objectives.

I've created everything from full website copy and long-form magazine advertorial to snappy brand names and engaging straplines. My work has appeared in newspapers, trade magazines, roadside billboards, radio campaigns and the London underground. I've written for both B2B and B2C audiences, commercial and non-commercial arms of the business, print and digital media, new prospects and current members.

One of my current responsibilities, as sub-editor of a company magazine, is to liaise closely with an external editor and graphic designer, so I'm used to working as part of a close-nit creative team. But this experience has also given me a deep understanding of client-side demands and constraints that I feel would allow me to anticipate the needs of agency clients.

Having achieved a first class degree in history and politics and worked in public affairs for a diverse and complex organisation, I'm at home with big ideas. I'm well placed to understand the different commercial models of the clients I will be working with and have the confidence to present my ideas concisely and deliver them with passion.

In short I feel I have the creativity, versatility and extensive experience to really make the most of this exciting opportunity and quickly become a valued member of the team.
