About me
I am a graduate graphic designer with a BA Hons in Graphic Design.
I have a good skill base which includes good basic layout and design skills. I am competent in adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and illustrator. I also have a basic knowledge of website design and Dreamweaver. I am a good communicator with a positive attitude who also possesses good sketching skills and a keen interest in typography.
My degree course helped me to develop a wide range of skills, such as problem solving skills, through exploration and lateral thinking, team work, communication skills and managing projects individually and as part of a team from concepts through to final presentations, all of which helped me to grow in confidence. Meeting Jonathan Barnbrook during the final year of my degree course was insightful, helping me realise the importance of mastering the basics. It was also encouraging to receive praise from him in regards to the Shelter brief I completed as part of a D&AD competition.
I have experience of working on live briefs during my time working on a voluntary basis in 2011 and also during the time I was employed by Staffordshire University. During my time working for Staffordshire University I designed a lot of promotional material in the form of leaflets, flyers and posters. During my voluntary work for Attain Design In 2011, I was able to meet with clients in person and work on design solutions in line with the brief. I really enjoy the experimental nature of graphic design which helps me to ensure the best outcomes.
I am looking for a chance to embrace a wide variety of duties, as I believe that I cope well under pressure. I see myself a good team player but also as a quick learner who is able to show initiative. I am definitely a creative thinker who enjoys a challenge. I see myself being a part of a supportive fast paced agency and believe I have a lot to offer (including good tea making abilities)
I think I would be a good asset to the team and would love to meet in person.
Yours sincerely
Lewis Patton
