Ski Companions is a unique company, brand and mobile-desktop application that is free to all skiers and snow boarders worldwide. It’s the perfect solution for finding like-minded people in ski resorts all over the world, allowing you to ski / board with those who are of a similar ability, looking for a great experience at a time to suit.
It also allows users to find news, information, to access live piste maps, instant messaging, activity updates, tracking movements with altitude, average speed / distance, find lists of restaurants, bars, social events and how to get there! Along with live weather and snow reports to provide real-time resort information and special deals specific to their location.

The tricky task for this brief was to produce a logo identity that combined and portrayed both ski/snowboarding and companions together, unlike a straight down the line ski/boarding brand! After numerous sketches and developments this logo had everything the client was looking for, which was a piste which represented either skiing or snowboarding and people(figures) to represent the companions aspect, while still keeping a modern looking and appealing identity to stand alone as a recognisable brand. The challenging aspect was it needed to stay away from looking like a dating app for skiers, and that's why I introduced a third person(figure) into it with their arms aloft. The feedback is that some people see the piste and the figures which is great, others see a skiing/boarding helmet, which is equally good as it combines three visual elements to the design.
