This project was to be an up market boutique book split equally 50/50, for men & women. As it’s prodomantly a female market, I came up with the idea and concept Even Adam. My aim is that the male customer will have an equal interest in style, fashion and design as the female customer.
Everybody is probably familiar with the story of Adam & Eve. I was interested in the idea of taking things back to the beginning, that's why the front covers have a stylish and tasteful semi naked shot of a woman on one side and a man on the other. It was intended to be a inspirational, relaxed and a accessible browse. The book begins with waking up, getting pampered and then gradually getting dressed with maybe a middle section of baby, home or even gadgets.
I see this as a collection of stylish loveliness with a hole range of products from handmade soaps, underwear, fashion and accessories for both men and women. Even Adam is full of contemporary style and simplicity, it is a simple design concepts for everyday living and maybe even exclusive items to N Brown Group plc themselves.
This would be directed to a person who lives in a place like Didsbury, Hale, Alderley Edge, Chesire, for example, or an up and coming area full of young professionals, 30 plus. Towns or places like these are full of young professionals who like to spend money, they are full of stylish bars, restaurants and interior design shops, for these people fashion, style and design is important and very much part of their lives. Whether they are single, in a relationship or even in a house share we hope they would enjoy looking through this catalogue.
From a generation brought up on Cold feet and friends etc, these people are aspirational and live busy fullfilled lives of work and friends but sometimes forget what's important! Relaxation and pampering is an important section of the book, this could have candals, essential oils, or health and beauty products.
This customer may not normally buy from catalogues so its an opportunity to sell to a different market. Using strong, but not obvious catalogue advertising etc. This book is all about the design and product.
The book is 210 x 210 square, and would be printed on high quality paper, and see this as a publication you would be proud of having on your coffee table. Ideally it could be all new photography but we could actually produce this quite cheaply using stock images as seen in our mock up, and even existing still life shots to save on costs as well.
