About me
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am contacting you to ask about the possibility of undertaking placement as a digital designer position at HYF. I am currently studying at the Interaction Design MA course of Bill Gaver, Tobie Kerridge and Alex Wilkie at Goldsmiths, University of London. As part of our course we are required to complete a four-month placement, related to our area of interest.
I would very much like to be considered to work as a digital designer at HYF as it matches well with my interests and skill sets. During my BA degree at Kyung-hee University in Korea, I studied Digital Content Design, which covered user-experience methods applied in web design and application design. I also developed skills in graphic design, 3D modelling and rendering, and film making, using after effect, premier pro, and etc. While studying, I have made various videos which were 2D, stop motion, and 3D animation. When I undertook an internship with Mot which is UI design company in Korea, my role was to redesign the web-site and promote their products on the social media. Overall, the company achieved higher sales, especially with the camping products which I promoted.
In the MA course at Goldsmiths, I've learned multiple methodologies for conducting research in design projects. For example; cultural probes, prototyping, qualitative interviews and issue mapping. I have recently finished a group project where we designed a "GM Home Factory" by applying those design and research methods. During the project, I also took the lead in making documentary research video and editing workbook. These practices have enabled me to understand both the visualisation and research process, and also to design creative visual communication methods.
I have attached a small sample of my recent work to this email. If possible, it would be great to have the opportunity to show you the full portfolio in person, and explain some of my processes in more detail.
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Thank you
Warm regards,
Hyeeun
