Laurane Le Goff Costume maker and designer

ABOUT

December 2019- January 2020, Thick cotton fabric, linen veil - Actresses: Sarah Jane Sauvegrain and Catherine Gandois // Photograph: Arthur F.

I designed and realized the costumes for the show Passagères directed by Tatiana Spivakova. The text was written by Daniel Besnehard with poems by Anna Akhmatova, the scenography by Salma Bordes the lights by Cristobal Castillo, and the sound effects by Malo Thouément. It was played in the theatre Le Lucernaire (Paris) from January 29th to March 17th.

Due to the budget PASSAGÈRES and the timing, I chose to realize two costumes and buy the other silhouettes. The text took place in a boat during the 1930s in Russia where Anna, a fallen actress, and soviet enemy, work as a maid. She meets Katia, a young actress full of hopes and dreams. They will link a friendship in the middle of the Soviet terror. You can see here the sketches of two silhouettes for the main characters. Anna is full of mysteries and hide, that’s why I chose to work on a blouse with different kinds of pockets. Katia had a lot of costumes, I chose to realize this nightdress, it shows her humble social status but also her youth by keeping the codes of the 1930s.
