ABOUT

The project was to take an original storyboard and give it a make-over. The storyboard itself would make the actual Video Advertisement.

The client brief:
To produce a storyboard that can be used in of itself, as the video advertisement. It should aim to show the obvious benefits of cooling with liquid instead of air. The intent is to make the use of fans seem silly or even farcical.
The current "rough" storyboard needs...
• more sophisticated illustration, greater detail, etc
• more frames to better reflect desired pacing
• the final frame of the rough storyboard is a miss. this is the most important shot of the video and so we must do our best to have it land correctly in the storyboard. i have specific corrections.
• must try to convey more "wetness": i know this is tough to draw, but it would be very helpful if the male could have indications that he is VERY hot: i.e. sweat glistening, damp hair,
• Realism is very important. I am selling this idea to people that are not very creative, so any sort of cartoonish look will miss the mark.
• Color; your B&W frames have the style I am looking for, but if at all possible, incorporating color will help from pitch standpoint. Open for discussion.
• I also have a few specific corrections on some of the frames
• the set blocking feels right to me, but open to suggestions
• I am not tied to the character design. i have a few changes from the rough SB and i welcome artist suggestions / interpretation.

I used 3D software to produce my set and characters. I think it can help the characters look more consistent throughout a sequence. Character consistency is something I need to work on, and this storyboard had a pretty tight deadline. It worked out pretty good. On time and happy client. :)
