ABOUT

Bird-themed Christmas card designs

Each year we design a studio Christmas card to send out to clients, collaborators, friends and followers to give thanks and wish them an enjoyable festive season. It's an opportunity to show our creativity, play with print techniques and finishes and link Christmas to the studio's namesake. Below are a couple of examples we've designed over the years.

2017 — Our very first debossed Christmas card design features footprints punched onto Keaykolour Snow white paper from Arjowiggins.

2018 — Season's greetings from Christmas birds. Printed in white ink onto Colorplan Forest paper from GF Smith.

2019 — This year’s card is hand-printed onto 100% recycled paper and topped off with a scribbled gold star.

2020 — With Covid-19 and lockdowns in full swing and everyone working from home, we couldn’t ignore the situation when it came to designing our 2020 Christmas cards.

We teamed up with WithPrint, a specialist print provider based in the South West. We mixed up the usual format and instead created a set of cards. Recipients could send these on to colleagues, friends and family encouraging them to forget work, switch off and take a well deserved break over the holidays.

The cards are produced on a range of recycled papers, including stocks made from recycled coffee cups and spent brewers grain, even the envelopes were 100% recycled.

2021 — This year’s Lark Christmas mail out coincided with the move to our very own studio in a renovated coach house in the heart of Leamington Spa. We designed a two-sided card to celebrate landing in our new nest.

2023 — A frosty photographic card made bird prints into antlers with a well placed berry.

2024 — A gilded postcard that's designed to be flipped to reveal a suitably bird-themed message.
