The typeface ‘Switch’ mirrors the architectural construction of The Switch House, the new extension to Tate Modern to create a contemporary upper-case font to fit with the modern building. Designed to be used for way-finding and print/materials at Tate Modern; the typeface will bridge the former Power Station to the Boiler House, connecting the two spaces/existing galleries. ‘Switch’ is a bold and modern typeface to compliment Tate Modern as a museum for modern and contemporary art; simultaneously the design combining raw industrial spaces with refined contemporary architecture.
