ABOUT
Book – is a way to inspire people to imagine, to ask and find answers, or – even to survive.
Thanks to The Centre of Art and Culture of Priekule, the book gains an unique mission – to remind and revive the unique dialect of 'šišioniškės'. It is still used by the small handful of people in the west of Lithuania.
ŠIPORIUS – in Lithuanian we know this word as 'žvejys'. A person who catches fish. A fisherman.
This emotional story is about a man, who in the name of love agrees to go to heaven and find there the answer to a question which was given by the fisherman's landlord. While he is traveling he meets a lot of people and animals in his way who also have questions about which they care. The narrative engages the reader and invites him to travel with the fisherman together. The storyline is like a sea – calm and stormy. This emotional aspect of the story inspired me to search for textures, colors and forms with the aim to express the feeling and energy of each character.
