ABOUT
They live between the sky and the ground. In the early spring they bloom in the meadows by various kinds of wild flowers. And are the first celebrating the Sun in the spring.
This series of graphic works, 20 ink-line characters, were inspired by little flowers growing in the Open Air Museum of Lithuania. I took photos of them, and got time to analyze their structure, forms, silhouettes. I refused to use a color and concentrated all the attention on the smallest characteristic details of each plant. And created the synthesis of a plant and a bird. I called those characters ‘gėliasparniai‘.
Pure linear drawings tell the story about the simplicity and magic feeling of the spring. As far as I remember, that was a great relaxation time to draw all of them, to find the characters and leave the spirit in each of them.
‘Gėliasparniai‘ was exhibited in the Open Air Museum of Lithuania for a while.
