Life Interrupted is an award-winning immersive web experience created by Novartis and Havas Health for Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Month, designed to help healthcare professionals empathize with the lived reality of SCD patients. Centered around Phillip, a real patient, the experience places viewers in four key life moments disrupted by painful vaso-occlusive crises—at school, abroad on business, during family time, and in a near-death ER incident—using a theatrical rotating-stage format that keeps participants stationary as the world changes around them. The journey culminates in a powerful, face-to-face conversation with Phillip, shifting the focus from clinical data to emotional understanding. Recognized with a Clio Health Bronze in the “Immersive – Pharma” category, the project stands out for transforming complex medical experiences into human stories that educate, resonate, and inspire change.
