Even since I was a student I have always loved taking something old and restoring it, this is a model of a new bridge near City Island. The client wanted their old model (photograph of the model with brown landscaping) restored and updated. The old model not original created by Kandor. The final result of the restored and updated model can be seen in the photographs with green landscaping.
To restore this model I carried out the following processes:
. Entire model was cleaned with soup, warm water and panel wipe
. All landscaping and trees removed
. Bridge removed
. Bridge resprayed with additional colours and lengthened for new location
. Bridge fixed into new location with landscaping sculpted to make join seamless
. Old buildings block removed
.New updated building blocks made by hand
. Entire model masked and sprayed with a new coat of white paint
. New updated blocks bolted in place
. New landscaping and trees added (Green trees and landscaping)
. New 3D print to make new ramp to access new location of the bridge.
.New white metal figures added to give model some animation and life.
